Outfielder Andy Pages is the Dodgers’ number 5 prospect in their farm system. The 20-year-old stands 6’1 and weighs 212 pounds. Pages signed as an international free agent out of Cuba and is currently playing for the A+ Great Lakes Loons. Last year, he was the youngest player, by three years, playing for the short-season Ogden Raptors, and he had a monster year. He ended up hitting 19 homeruns and had an OPS of 1.049 in only 63 games. With the Loons, he is hitting .255 with 26 homeruns and 76 RBIs in 102 games. In the 376 at-bats, he has struck out 113 times and walked 65 times.
Andy Pages is a big-time power hitter at such a young age. When he makes contact, it is hit hard. He also has an excellent eye for the strike zone. He demolishes low fastballs and hanging curveballs. With this kind of power at 20 years old, it is extremely promising. Andy’s weakness is his tendency to swing and miss too often. Pages doesn’t have the worst bat-to-ball skills, but it is below average.
Pages is currently playing centerfield for the Great Lakes Loons due to his speed and athletic ability. As he matures and bulks up, it will be hard for him to stay in centerfield as he will most likely lose some agility. Most likely, he will play one of the corner spots in the outfield as he is only an average fielder with an above-average arm. Andy can sometimes overthrow his cutoff man and miss the target entirely. Andy also has a problem with tracking fly balls. He does, however, have above-average speed that he only utilizes in the field and also helps him with his downfalls in the field.
The ETA for Andy Pages is 2023. Everyone can see what the Dodgers love about this kid. He is an extremely powerful and athletic 20-year-old who can develop into one of the best hitters in the game. If he can continue to hit as he gets promoted through the farm system, he will be a star in the Majors.
